Hello and welcome back for our fourth installment of the “Week Of Weight-Loss Wisdom” here this week on a special week-long edition of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore!”
In Episode 150 today, Jimmy speaks with athlete and low-carb lover Rebecca Wilhoit. She is very passionate about using a healthy low-carb lifestyle to not just control her weight, but to treat her polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) as well. Rebecca has never had a major weight problem, but being diagnosed with PCOS was the wake-up call she needed to find a plan of action for treating it. And livin’ la vida low-carb is PERFECT!
Rebecca has been mentored by low-carb researcher and author Cassandra Forsythe (an associate of famed low-carb researcher Dr. Jeff Volek from the University of Connecticut), and she has some great things to say about Cassandra’s The Perfect Body Diet book which has helped her through simple changes in her diet to pursue her dream of having a natural conception.
But first, please help keep these fantastic interviews coming by supporting our great sponsors! Today’s episode is brought to you by ChocoPerfection, makers of some of the most amazing low-carb chocolates you’ve ever tasted, including Jimmy Moore’s very own Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Bar!

Great interview Jimmy!
From my experience the medical community in this country sucks! We have the worse medical care in the industrialized world and pay the most for it. This is a fact. My doctors were trying to kill me and almost did.
Most Doctors only want to push drugs! It’s the easiest thing for them to do in the three to six minutes allotted per patient visit. Want more time? Schedule another appointment. Many times you will hear or read; consult with your physician before doing or taking something. What physician is going to give you the time of day, let alone consult with you about anything unless you are paying for their three minutes?
The Pharmaceutical companies get their hooks into doctors while they are still in medical school with money and gifts. From then on these doctors are pushers for drug companies. This may sound radical, it isn’t. When I was laying on a gurney in the hospital with a flat line showing on my monitor; that was radical.
Fat is good for you! When I tell people this they look at me like I’m nuts. Then they want to know; How did you lose all that weight, why are you so healthy and you take no medications? I respond, eat FAT. People have been brainwashed into believing what is good or bad for you is the opposite of what truly is good or bad for you. Its beyond amazing how powerful this brainwashing is. Sense most people don’t believe me and think I’m nuts I might as well throw in this; Salt is also good for you!
There are a limited few doctors who are understanding the needs of the patient better, Carl, but they are very hard to find. I just created a new blog that I’ll be sharing soon that will list these low-carb doctors so that others can benefit from their wisdom.
STAY TUNED!
Boy, that’s great Jimmy. It’s so frustrating to not find doctors who will treat you as a person and just in and out and here’s some drugs! I am amazed at how they treat diabetics and when with some counseling on carbs control, you can get so much better diabetes control but you have to dig to find that information. I have a friend who used to work for a major drug company and he siad their motto was the perfect drug was one that would treat the symptoms but not the cure! How pathetic in the intersest of the almighty dollar!
They are out there–the GOOD ONES–and hopefully this new blog will help, Linda.
I love this interview!! I wish Doctors would get on board with LowCarb. I have PCOS myself and it was not until I started this lifestyle that I started to feel somewhat normal again. Thanks so much for sharing all these great interviews!!
THANKS Teresa. There’s absolutely NO reason whatsoever for doctors to continue to bury their heads in the sand about this. The truth is out there and they need to listen.
