I think the point you highlighted is an important one for people to understand who have been led to believe something radically different about low-carb diets. What I said in this podcast about fat is the truth, but people don't like hearing something that goes against their knee-jerk template to ridicule and scorn. It's not sucking up to the mainstream...it's simply telling them the facts.

Jeff, I hope you can get a handle on that carb addiction buddy! You're a good guy who has his heart in the right place. I'm here for you anytime you need help in this journey. GO GET 'EM BUDDY! ;)

When you say, "The Atkins diet has helped many people who desire to lose weight learn the principles of watching their carbohydrate intake while simultaneously eating a greater percentage of fat and protein to make it happen. Interestingly, the actual amount of fat consumed doesn’t really increase, but it’s the percentage of total caloric intake coming from fat that does. That’s why livin’ la vida low-carb is generally considered high-fat, but that’s a bit deceiving. It’s definitely higher than the ultra-low-fat (and might I add unhealthy) plan prescribed by Dr. Dean Ornish, but it is arguably lower in fat than the Standard American Diet."

Just made me wonder is all.

And for what it's worth, I'm still addicted to carbs of many forms. :(

My carbs consist of vegetables and low sugar fruits such as berries, pears, peaches etc. Whole grains will come in to play when I reach maintenance but even then, they will be limited. Jimmy, your empire is expanding-a blog, a podcast, a forum, a book, and videos on You Tube! You go, boy!!!

I'm happy that no-carb works for you, Jeff, but most people cannot eat that way. CONGRATS that it works for you, but it's not for everyone.

As for fat, what am I spinning? My position is that fat SHOULD be consumed as part of a healthy diet. In other words, I agree that "fat is king."

So what is your opposition, my friend?

THANKS for listening!

Um, no. Carbs are not essential for health, no matter the source. And another thing.....you're spinning about the whole fat intake issue to please the mainstreamers! Why? Fat is king, carbs are heathens!
