Hello and welcome back to The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
In today’s episode, Jimmy shares his conversation with Julia Ross, nutritional psychologist, eating disorder specialist and author of The Diet Cure and The Mood Cure. Julia believes that by following the advice in her books or by consulting with her at her practice practice, virtually anyone can overcome carbohydrate addiction in just a matter of days.
She points out a University of Bordeaux study demonstrating that sugar–and sugar substitutes–are four times as addictive as cocaine! Did you get that?! She add that the cause of carb addiction is not psychological, but rather physical and it is not treated with self-discipline or some magical willpower ability. Rather, Julia’s studies have shown that the cause and best treatment is dietary–that would be livin’ la vida low-carb!
ALSO: Don’t forget to try Verve! the great new sugar-free, low-carb energy drink that supports the low-carb community by underwriting a portion of this show!

Hello and welcome back to The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
Today Jimmy shares a conversation with a colleague from his earliest days in podcasting, Reinhard Engels. Reinhard is the creator of The No “S” Diet, a model of simplicity aimed at leveraging the psychology of diet with the utility of simple systems. Jimmy and Reinhard began podcasting together in 2006 on Chris Brogan’s “Fat Guy Gets Fit” podcast, and then the Health Hacks Podcast, hosted by Jimmy’s current producer, Kevin Kennedy-Spaien.
Because there is nothing inherently pro or con to the low-carb dietary approach in The No “S” Diet, it can be used as a tool for low-carbers, low-fatties or almost anyone intending to lose weight. It has the added advantage of boosting one’s sense of self-discipline through simple and minor changes applied consistently.
Reinhard also shares his ab-ripping exercise technique known as “Shovelglove” which works by spending 14 minutes a day role-playing as a 19th century farm laborer–with a sledge hammer wrapped in a sweater! Odd though it may sound, it really works! Enjoy this rather peculiarly interesting conversation today.

Hello and welcome back to The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
Today, Jimmy is proud to share his long-awaited interview with world-renowned diabetes specialist, Dr. Richard Bernstein, author of The Diabetes Solution: The Complete Guide to Achieving Normal Blood Sugars.
In this amazing hour-long interview, Dr. Bernstein discusses the struggles he’s gone through to overcome inertia and avarice on the part of the American Diabetes Association, drug manufacturers and many others who maintain that diabetics should not even attempt to regulate their blood sugar through diet, and merely rely on drug therapy. Some of what you will hear will be shocking to say the least, but Dr. Bernstein remains cautiously optimistic about the future prospects of low-carb diabetes care.
This is a very special, once-in-a-year kind of interview and it is not to be missed! Special thanks to Dr. Richard Bernstein for being so gracious with his time to share with us today.

Hello and welcome back to The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
Today Jimmy shares his recent discussion with Dr. Malcolm Kendrick, author of The Great Cholesterol Con. Dr. Kendrick raises the inconvenient truths that science does not support the highly-touted cholesterol theory behind heart disease and that there is no such thing as “blood cholesterol.” What does he mean by that, why don’t levels of arterial plaque correspond to higher cholesterol consumption, and how is refuting the heart/cholesterol hypothesis like trying to eat a blancmange? Tune in to today’s podcast to find out!
