British physician and low-carb, high-fat diet advocate Dr. Barry Groves is our guest today in this LLVLC Classic interview Episode 669 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.”
Dr. Barry Groves from “Second Opinions” was one of our all-time favorite guests on “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.” In this special re-airing of a two-part conversation Jimmy had with him several years back, you’ll hear Dr. Groves discuss the concepts in his amazing book Trick And Treat. Listen in as Jimmy and Dr. Gorves discuss virtually every major health subject out there today, including modern-day diseases, cholesterol, dietary fat, exercise, whole grains, soy, low-fat diets, and, of course, low-carb diets. One thing you’ll immediately notice about Dr. Groves is his incredible passion for what he talks about–it’s infectious to all who listen to him!

Today we present a previously-aired, four-part interview with Dr. Dean Ornish, all in one remastered and re-formatted episode for your listening pleasure as part of our “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show Classic” series airing on Wednesdays while Jimmy is away writing his cholesterol book. Listen in as Dr. Ornish talks about his 2008 book release called The Spectrum and where he feels low-carbers and low-fat adherents should be in agreement.
This episode originally aired over four days in February and March of 2008 as Episodes 115-118 of The LLVLC Show. While we don’t have the original raw audio of the interview any longer, we were able to pull the audio from the published episodes and even improve it a bit with modern audio software!
What’s really interesting is that this isn’t the first time Jimmy interviewed Dr. Ornish. After their first interview took place with a tape recorder on speaker phone one month before the birth of this podcast, Dr. Ornish asked to come on this podcast and requested that Jimmy challenge him and be more assertive in taking on anything that he disagreed with. Of course, Jimmy didn’t need to be asked twice about doing this (and interestingly, Dr. Ornish has never asked to come back on the show again)! This one, while still polite, was far more challenging and a bit contentious at times as well. This is really an LLVLC Classic episode in every sense of the word! DON’T MISS IT!

Hello and welcome back for a classic episode of the Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore. While Jimmy’s off working on his forthcoming Cholesterol book, we’re featuring classic interviews every Wednesday. Today we have a pair of conversations from 2008 with Sweden’s celebrated Low-carb (or LCHF as they refer to it) advocates, Dr. Annika Dahlqvist and Per Wikholm.
Dr. Dahlqvist was willing to put her entire medical career on the line to defend the low-carb nutritional approach in her home country of Sweden. Although the odds were stacked against her, she KNEW the science was on her side. In the end, she came out of this intense trial triumphant and strong as the Swedish government now promotes a low-carb diet alongside a low-fat one.
Registered dietitian and naturopathic medical school student Aglaee Jacob is our guest in Episode 648 of The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
Conventional nutritional wisdom abounds abundantly amongst the majority of today’s primary educators about what constitutes a healthy menu plan–registered dietitians, aka RDs. Unfortunately, their definition of what “healthy” means usually ends up being a diet that is low in fat and calories, high in “healthy whole grains” and heavy on some pro-inflammatory omega-6-rich vegetable oil fats. But for Aglaee Jacob “The Paleo Dietitian”, she’s part of a brand new generation of RDs who are willing to stand up for what the science is saying regarding good nutrition and it bears little resemblance to the typical stuff you hear about regarding the relationship between food and health.
Aglaee was traditionally-trained in dietetics, but quickly lost her enthusiasm for it after years of failing to see the results with her clients that she thought they should. But after going through her own personal health struggles and realizing the power of the therapeutic use of Paleo nutrition and lifestyle strategies for herself, it rekindled her passion for helping improve the health of her clients. She’s the author of the April 15, 2013 release of the book Digestive Health with REAL Food: A Practical Guide to an Anti-Inflammatory, Nutrient Dense Diet for IBS & Other Digestive Issues dedicated to the subject of gut health. Listen in as Jimmy and Aglaee discuss the work she does and why she’s spreading the message on behalf of a lower-carb, higher-fat Paleo into the mainstream of registered dietitians. Let today’s podcast interview encourage you that a nutritional revolution is happening behind-the-scenes.

Chinese Medicine Practitioner, acupuncturist and natural fertility educator Nat Kringoudis is our guest in Episode 647 of The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
So many people these days are dealing with fertility issues now more than ever before. According to the latest statistics from the U.S. Centers For Disease Control, over 7.4 million women ages 15-44 have attempted to use some kind of alternative therapy to get pregnant such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and the numbers just keep getting worse and worse. And a natural fertility specialist in Melbourne, Australia named Nat Kringoudis thinks she knows why and it has a lot to do with our nutritionally corrupt modern-day diet that is loaded with excessive carbohydrates and not enough healthy fats and proteins.
Nat has written a fantastic e-book on this subject outlining her basic philosophy for eating and living for fertility called Fertilise Yourself loaded with tips and tricks for becoming well and maximizing your chances for getting pregnant naturally. Listen in as Jimmy and Nat talk about how eating for your fertility is actually the optimal way for improving your health. This Aussie has plenty of fantastic information to share to rekindle that dream of having a baby. ENJOY!

ENJOY!

ENJOY!
