As bad as the obesity epidemic has become here in the United States over the past few years, there’s one other country in the world where we have met our match: Australia. In the land of kangaroos, meat on the barbie and no worries, there’s actually great concern over the weight and health of the people of this great nation. And David Gillespie is on a one-man mission to help people get to the root cause of what is happening in their diets that’s making them fat and sick.
David was featured in Episode 219 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” in January 2009 discussing his book Sweet Poison: Why Sugar Is Making Us Fat. Over the past few years he has been staying busy continuing to promote the dangers of consuming fructose, but also recognizes many of the sacred cows about nutrition being promoted by the food and diet industry are just plain wrong. Eat less, move more, cut your saturated fat consumption, eat more polyunsaturated vegetable oils, take loads of supplements–the list goes on and on.
