I really liked this interview. Chris comes across as extremely intelligent and well-researched. I have noticed that some holistic practitioners (especially those who are not clinically trained) tend to skim over hard scientific facts. He doesn’t have to try to wiggle out of scientific-based questioning because his basis for knowledge is actually grounded in hard science.

I loved doing this interview, Shannon! It’s nice to talk to people like Chris who are both articulate and super-smart. Rare combo!

    Fantastic.

Thank you for this. My husband is a physician and I’ve shared some of Chris’s blogs with him and he’s very favorably impressed.

Dr Paul Jaminet(perfecthealthdiet.com) responded to a question about your fast:

[5] Long Fasts: Jimmy Moore is doing a 7-day total fast.

I would caution him to drink lots of water and take electrolytes (salt for sodium and chlorine, plus potassium and magnesium, maybe mineral water with calcium). Personally, I would ease any long fast a bit with coconut oil or MCTs. And if any troubles develop, cut the fast short.

I myself will soon be doing my longest fast of the year, from Holy Thursday evening to Easter Sunday, about 64 hours.

    Great interview Jimmy!

As a newly graduating medical student, I agree that we are taught to push drugs drugs and more drugs.
However, we are taught to first prescribe lifestyle changes.

The problem is that most of our teachers/mentors will say that our patients won’t listen to us and that prescribing a drug is easier.

I have found early in my training that this isn’t the truth and that patients actually DO listen. Getting doctors to prescribe the right lifestyle (diet) might be a tough task though. :)
