445: Danny Roddy: Eat Your Way To Healthy Hair!

Danny Roddy, Paleo blogger and author of The Healthy Hair Diet is our guest today on The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb with Jimmy Moore!

A few years ago, Danny Roddy was in a band that was going places. The problem was, so was his hair–falling out at the ripe age of 20. With music being so youth-oriented and image-driven, Danny started getting very self-conscious about his receding hairline. This started him down a path that led from prescription medications to supplementation, to OVER-supplementation, to veganism, and finally to Paleo dieting. Through a combination of trial and error, self-experimentation and tons of research, he claims to have found the dietary path to avoiding follicular folly!

    Haven’t bought the book (yet!), but I love Danny’s blog and this interview was great. Was a little sad to learn that butter can sometimes aggravate autoimmune conditions though :( Ah well, one can always replace it with coconut oil.

    I agree that “male pattern baldness” is probably never inevitable, just brought on in those prone to it by lifestyle choices. In Arthur De Vany’s book I think he mentioned how one of the effects of switching to hunter gatherer foods was a cessation of any hair loss he’d been experiencing up to then.
