Welcome back for another fantastic episode of the longest-running low-carb podcast known to mankind, The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!

In Episode 192, Jimmy discusses low-carb living, joint pain and low-impact exercise with author, video blogger, exercise guru and genuinely funny lady Penny Hoff. Listen in for the account of Penny dealing with chronic pain and going through hip-replacement surgery at a relatively young age while striving to remain fit. All those years of exercise classes and wasteful cardiovascular workouts wore her body down and now Penny realizes there’s a better way.

You’ll hear some surprising insights into which celebrities you may not know who have had hip replacements and what you can do to maintain bone density when “Chronologically Enriched!”

Amusing! I like her attitude and humor.

If one wants to break the plateau forever, personally, I would stick with low carb nd not use it as a temporary measure. Maybe I misunderstood her. I would be interested in what she suggests for forms of exercise besides chin-up/pull-ups. It seems as though she doesn’t suggest lots of cardio (via Jane Fonda days) but, then again, she seems to still do a lot of aerobics.

I’ll have to check out her book.

Thanks Jummy.

She definitely believes in low-carb long-term for weight management, Danielle, but probably allows for more carbs in maintenance than most low-carbers would. Penny is a fantastic person and is using her bad experiences to warn others on what NOT to do.

Aha – thanks for clearing that up. I misunderstood the long term vs. short term.

She really has a great outlook and I appreciate her willing to share her experiences.
