Missy (15:36:57) :

Thanks Jimmy!

I have PCOs and my doc wanted me to do a low-fat diet. It didn’t work and so I was told I probably wouldn’t have children unless I could lose the weight, that I just had to suck it up and do it. I can’t tell you how much I tried!

Thank you Dr. Wiltshire for your insights into low-carb for PCOs. I’m going to do more reading and hopefully get back on track this week!

I’m one of the thin PCOs Dr. Wilshire mentioned and was lucky to have my cycle totally get normal when I cut my carbs and started eating real food again. It can work. It’s not easy to totally change your diet, but it is worth it when you see how much healthier you get and how much better you feel.

Well, I can definitely say that a controlled carb diet and exercise helped me lose weight and also made every single PCOS symptom disappear (and I had almost every single one of them!). Dr. Wilshire is right on the money!! I wish every woman who has struggled with the unpleasant symptoms of PCOS would listen to this podcast.

Dave (18:12:55) :

Hey, I was about 45 pounds overweight, then I got type 2 diabetes, pretty much got my act together overnight, after that…..NO MORE SUGAR, seriously, this works like a charm. cut out sugar and high and medium glycemic foods. Im sure we’ve heard it a thosand times but the weight will fall off within months, even without additional exercise.
Just have patience.
All the best. Dave

That’s great, Dave. I bet that as long as you stay on a low-carb plan, you’ll never develop PCOS, either.

I turn 37 the 23 of this month and we are still hopeful. I am doing low carb and love reading you whenever I have a chance! My husband and I have adopted 5 special needs children so when I do get pregnant and bring home another bundle of joy I think our home will become one shade away from total craziness! lol ! Hey - Just wanted to coment on the low carb diet
It REALLY works ….. I started dieting the 2nd week of January 2007 and still going ….. I lost 124lbs and still losing. I rarely exercise at all, just dieting. I don’t feel deprived at all. And you don’t have to spend a million dollars on special food, you shop at a normal grocery store. The trick is to read labels and subtract the fiber from the carbs and stay under 30 carbs a day. NO SODA drink water. It works and I can guarantee it! I am living proof. Good Luck!
