Interview: Bill Kurtis On The Importance Of Grass-Fed Beef (Episode 175)
1 09 2008
Hello and welcome back for another interview illuminating the issues that ignite the low-carb community here at The Livin’ La Vida Low-carb Show With Jimmy Moore!
After years as a renowned broadcaster for CBS-TV and A&E, Bill Kurtis decided to return to his Kansas roots and begin ranching grass-fed beef through his company The Tallgrass Beef Company.
At first it may seem like there’s no reason beyond kindness to animals (although that’s a fine reason by itself) to prefer grass-fed beef, but Bill explains why non-corn fed beef is also better for humans. Reasons cited include lower amounts of LDL fats, presence of Omega-3 fat, the lack of E. coli bacteria in the gut (and on the meat of) cattle, reduction in antibiotic exposure and more.
Listen in for the skinny on healthy, humane tallgrass-fed, prairie-raised Kansas beef!

Wow, eye opening. I know I feel better when I eat grass fed beef, but don’t always have the funds for it but when I do I love it!
It is expensive, but SO worth it!
I’ve been reading my new book Prairie Table Cookbook. I also just found a grass fed beef supplier a few miles from my home. Al and I drove over yesterday and picked up several cuts. It was a bit more expensive than the grocery store, but the taste, the customer service, and the idea of eating healthier made it all worth the $$$.
Once you eat grass-fed beef, you NEVER go back to anything else.
Great show. I am convinced that eating corn feed beef contributes to antibiotic allergies as well as antibiotic resistance in humans.
He says it all! It is kinda surreal to hear his familiar words say things so close to my heart! Thanks for sharing the word:)
