Those are junk studies and you should know it. There's very little difference between the various groups they studied, and all of the participants ate meat. Yes, of course you're right about high sugar and refined carbs being bad, but there's no reason to toss low-fat under the truck just because a bunch of people went crazy on snackwells in the 90's. While these studies might show that there is no difference between someone eating a moderately bad diet, and an even worse diet, it says nothing about what it takes to actually reverse heart disease. The ONLY diet that has been shown to reverse heart disease is the plant based 10% fat diet. There are NO studies showing that low-carb a la Atkins with lots of animal products, can reverse heart disease. So what if all of these studies show there is no difference between the typical American diet and low-carb when it comes to heart disease. Do you really want to follow a diet that does no better than we are already doing? Until a study is produced that low carb can actually reverse heart disease, you're just playing games with statistics, and unfortunately, a lot of gullible people and the press are falling for it.

Interesting how "their" new news is really old news to us. How many studies is it going take to convince people of the truth. The low fat "myth" is dying a hard and slow death.

While I'm a real believer in one size does not fit all, there are limits, and the limits are the unhealthy lowfat processed foods people continue to eat in the name of good health.
