Diet Delusion=Good Calories, Bad Calories

Welcome back to the hottest low-carb podcast allowed by law–it’s “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore!”

Today we are proud to present Part 1 of Jimmy’s much-anticipated interview with New York Times journalist and bestselling author Gary Taubes! In September 2007, Gary published the book-length version of his years based upon years of research into the carbohydrate connection to diet and health problems which we all got a first glimpse of in his groundbreaking 2002 op-ed piece on the subject of the healthy low carb lifestyle entitled “What If It’s All Been A Big Fat Lie?”

The book is known alternatively as either Good Calories, Bad Calories (in the USA) or The Diet Deception (in the UK). Listen in as Jimmy asks Gary Taubes the questions sent in by his blog readers and podcast listeners! Part 2 coming Thursday!

ALSO: Listen in today to see if you were you a winner of one of three copies of the low-carb documentary My Big Fat Diet from last week’s contest giveaway. GOOD LUCK!!!

That was a very fast 25 minute interview. Can’t wait for part II. Very witty Jimmy regarding ‘reparations’.

I agree, JD! The full raw footage was 45 minutes and it ZIPPED by. I could have talked with him for HOURS on end. But he was super nice to give me 45 minutes. That “reparations” comments just kinda came out…but it fits what we were talking about.

It’s pretty astonishing how primitive our views are thought to be by the masses. — The multitudes of carbohydrate and stimulant addicts just can’t seem to be able to comprehend or get a grip on this phenomenon and how it effects our minds so profoundly.

And yet a book like what Gary Taubes wrote is considered “extreme” by many is actually full of some basic, fundamentals regarding diet and nutrition. How did we get this far off course?

I watch with great interest the shows on Travel Channel where they feature primitive tribes and what those tribes do to exist. They ALWAYS favor meat when they can get it over everything else. They ain’t stupid and they aren’t influenced by the modern way of life which makes for fascinating observations if you focus on what they eat while watching these shows.

That’s a good point, JD. Where’s the tofu and bean sprouts in these cultures? :)
