What I love about lowcarbing is that I can lose weight while still eating a great variety of food in good amounts. No measly portions for me! I can also say I eat more vegetables than ever and a lot less processed food. Low carbing for me is much healthier than my old eating habits. Jimmy, keep the great podcasts coming!!!

One more time: If you can eat less than 20g carbs and enjoy that for the rest of your life, then GO FOR IT! But most people can't (or won't). It's all a matter of personal preference and choice--there are no hard and fast rules for EVERYONE.

Don't let livin' la vida low-carb confuse you. Do what works for you and then keep at it. You're doing great, Jeff! I'm proud of you, buddy!

It just seems to me that to get those numbers, say 30g and above, one would have to consume pounds of certain veggies to get close, of course counting the odd cheeses and eggs and such. LC confuses me sometimes, hehe. I guess I shouldn't say anything until I can overcome my carb addictions myself. :(

True, Jeff, but still most people who follow most of the low-carb plans that are out there eat between 20-60g carbs daily. I don't personally bemoan anyone who can live and stay below 20g carbs, but it's not the majority of low-carbers.

THANKS for your feedback as always! :)

"In a definite rebuke of low-carb diets, Chickering wrote that “eliminating completely or over-emphasizing the importance of a certain food” is not the best way to lose weight. Too bad for Chickering livin’ la vida low-carb doesn’t completely eliminate any food groups. Had she read up on what the low-carb lifestyle is really all about, then she would find that most low-carbers eat between 20-60g carbohydrates daily when they are losing weight."

You should say that's what livin la vida Atkins is about. :)

I don't think we need ANY carbs, let alone 20-60. Zero is impossible, but less than 20 is fine by me. It's low carb, too. ;)

THANKS for commenting, Sherrie! The same garbage about eating fruits and veggies (without stating that there are good and bad ones among the bunch!) is recommended by the American government just like it is in your country of Australia.

Berries are awesome, though, and so is spinach! That's why I'm so thrilled to have Fresh Express as a sponsor since I'm already such a BIG FAN!

I don't need bread, pasta or any other whole grains either! It's just not necessary for a healthy diet regardless of what "THEY" say.

THANKS again for listening!

Heh eat moderately to lose weight!

Hey maybe for someone who has great blood sugar control and is very active and hasn't wrecked their metabolisms yet, that might work fine but I think it is safe to say the majority of us would just be left plain hungry!

Its funny how they say we eliminate a whole food group... Okay we keep our carbs relatively low but take vegies and fruit for instance there is still lots left for us.

I am not sure how your goverment promote vegies and fruit there but over here they say we need 5 servings of vegies and 2 of fruit a day.
We can easily do that on LC even more so as their servings are quite small. Whats even better is the main low carb fruit (berries) pack a better nutritional punch then any other fruit to my knowledge and if not they would come awfully close!

That leaves us with grains/seeds etc, there is still plenty out there we can consume if we feel the need to, I really don't think wheat is an essential nutrient do you?

When we knock wheat out of our diet, we knock out all those empty nutrient fillers like pasta and bread. What do we usually wind up replacing them with? more nutrient rich foods like nuts and vegies!

Their argument is so crazy!
