Not familiar with who Dana Carpender is? Well, long before Dr. Jonny Bowden wrote his great treatise on different low-carb approaches, Dana released How I Gave Up My Low-Fat Diet And Lost 40 Pounds. This amazing book detailed many of the different plans that were then available.

Listen in as she and Jimmy talk about some recent studies, the efficacy of the natural sweetener stevia, the value of sufficient calories on a low-carb diet, what to do with that terrible artificial sweetener aspartame (or NASTY-tame as Jimmy calls it!), and much, MUCH Moore!

jackie-eberstein The Skinny on Atkins From The Historical Perspective of Jackie Eberstein: Part 2 (Episode 153) Welcome back to the very best and most listened-to low-carb podcast available on the Internet today–it’s “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore!” We appreciate your support of our advocacy for the healthy low-carb living presented in a positive and encouraging manner twice weekly. It is our pleasure to have you here in our listening audience and we say a hearty thank you for being here.

In Episode 152 today, Jimmy is proud to present the conclusion of his fascinating two-part interview with Jackie Eberstein, a registered nurse and long-time assistant to the late great Dr. Robert C. Atkins from 1974 until his untimely death five years ago. If anyone knows what the Atkins diet is REALLY all about, then it’s Jackie. And you can hear it in her voice as she answers these questions from real people just like you. She shares her own unique insights from 34 years of working in the field of controlled-carb healthcare!

Guess what? Jackie has been so overwhelmed (in a good way!) by the positive response you have given her about her podcast appearance that she has agreed to do a regular segment on “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore” just to answer your questions about the Atkins diet, the impact it can have on your health, and whatever else is bugging you about low-carb. WOW, how about that?! Go ahead and start sending me your questions via voicemail by calling (206) 202-6516. Then we’ll have Jackie answer them in an future podcast.

We’d prefer to HEAR your questions for Jackie, but you can also submit them to Jimmy directly by e-mailing him at livinlowcarbman@charter.net. Special thanks to Jackie Eberstein for this fabulous two-part interview this week and for her commitment to continuing to answer your questions about livin’ la vida low-carb. You can really tell she cares about people in much the same way that Dr. Atkins did. Aren’t you glad he ended up HIRING Jackie after she told him off during the job interview in 1974? :D
